My story:
My name is Jasmin, I’m the founder and CEO of BodyBayu, LLC, and NASM-certified personal trainer. I help beginners work fitness into their lives to reach their goals and improve their quality of life!
I know what it feels like to be a beginner in the world of fitness, and to be frustrated with the amount of information and misinformation there is online. Figuring out what kind of routine to follow and how to fit it into my lifestyle was really difficult for me, especially when I didn’t know what fitness advice to follow.
Before college, I was in a hip-hop dance company, rehearsing for hours and hours every week. Transitioning from that to a lifestyle where sedentary obligations (I was a studio art major) took priority took a toll on me. I was getting sick more often, I lost a lot of motivation and confidence, and my overall level of energy was low.
I tried to bring fitness into my life by going to the gym and learning everything I could about being healthy, but I felt like I was drowning in a sea of misinformation and constant setbacks. I didn’t know what would work for me, and I couldn’t figure out why nothing was changing/improving.
Finally, post-graduation, I got serious about learning the fundamentals of fitness, sticking to the basics, and learning how to listen to my body and analyse my progress. I spent months focusing on my own fitness, and I finally started to see strong, sustainable change. It’s not an overnight process, but as I’ve learned more and really made my health and fitness a priority, I’ve had more energy, confidence, and motivation in my daily life. It turned my life around by teaching me to respect challenges and to give myself the time and patience required to make real change.
That’s why I became a certified personal trainer. That’s why I prioritized not only learning about exercise and nutrition for my own goals, but also how to coach others to reach theirs. I know how important health and fitness is, and how it affects your whole life. And I want to share that with as many people as I can.
